Permaculture garden in St Andrews

Super-green sustainable garden

This family were keen to make their garden as sustainable as possible, while still making it work for relaxing, entertaining and growing food. We built a bespoke permaculture spiral, planted with edible herbs and leaves, creating a place to sit, nibble and harvest all year round. Two small patios create lots of space for entertaining and relaxing. The wildflower lawn is good for playing and wildlife, and the vegetable garden is planted with perennial edibles that come back every year, meaning less work, fewer environmental impacts, and something for your plate all year round.

Eco-friendly upgrades:

Rainwater harvesting - a green roof slows water movement off the house, and the downpipes all connect to water butts, minimising rainwater runoff (which causes flooding) and saving water to irrigate the garden.

100% reused and recycled materials - we used reclaimed stone for the patios, and recycled all the green waste from landscaping into no-dig veg beds, saving time, money and carbon emissions.
